Resume Copilot is committed to making our website and extension usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology like screen readers, or who navigate primarily by keyboard. This page describes our current accessibility posture honestly — including what we've verified, and what we haven't gotten to yet — rather than just asserting general compliance.

Standard we're working toward

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by both the EU's European Accessibility Act and current U.S. accessibility guidance.

What we've actually verified

• Color contrast: our primary text colors have been directly measured against WCAG's contrast formula — our main text (ink navy on paper background) measures 14.6:1, secondary text measures 7.0:1, and our accent color measures 5.5:1. All comfortably exceed the 4.5:1 minimum for normal text.
• Form labels: every input field across our website and extension has an associated label readable by screen readers, not just visual placeholder text.
• Keyboard focus: we don't suppress the browser's default focus indicators anywhere, so keyboard navigation should show clearly where you are on the page.
• No images without text alternatives: our site doesn't currently use raster images that would need alt text — visual elements are built with real HTML/CSS, which is inherently readable by assistive technology.
• Semantic structure: we use real headings, buttons, and landmark elements rather than generic clickable <div>s throughout.

Known limitations

We haven't yet completed a full manual audit with actual screen reader software (e.g. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) across every page and flow. Areas we haven't specifically verified include:

• Screen reader announcement behavior for dynamic content (e.g. the match score updating, error messages appearing) — these may not always be announced automatically.
• Full keyboard-only operability of every interactive element in the Chrome extension's popup.
• Compatibility testing across the full range of assistive technology and browser combinations.

We're a small, independently-run product and are actively improving this over time rather than treating it as finished.

Reporting an issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on our site or in the extension, please tell us — we read every report and will do our best to address genuine issues promptly.
